Water Quality Reporter ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

The App collects only what is necessary to provide its core function:

• Google account information — obtained via Google Sign-In (email address, display name)
• App settings — recipient email addresses, location identifier, and other preferences you configure
• Measurement data — residual chlorine readings you enter before sending

The App may also collect anonymized crash reports to help diagnose and fix technical issues.

The recipient email address and your own Google account email address may be temporarily recorded in server-side processing logs when a report is sent (see "3. Data Storage" for details).

2. How We Use Your Information

Collected information is used solely to:

• Send measurement reports to the email addresses you specify
• Display your send history within the App
• Maintain your settings between sessions
• Improve app stability via crash reporting

Your data is never sold, shared for advertising, or used for any purpose other than operating the App.

3. Data Storage

Your settings, send history, and authentication credentials are stored on your device only.

Measurement data (residual chlorine readings) is handled only in server memory for the duration of the send request and is not stored.

Sending a report is processed via Firebase Cloud Functions, which runs on the developer's Google Cloud project. As part of this processing, the sender's (your Google account) and recipient's email addresses are recorded in Google Cloud Logging for the default retention period (Google Cloud's standard setting), as a record of the processing outcome. These logs are used solely for troubleshooting and error diagnosis.

Separately, anonymized crash diagnostics may be transmitted to and stored by Google via Firebase Crashlytics.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following services provided by Google:

• Google Sign-In — for authentication
• Gmail — to send reports from your own account
• Firebase Cloud Functions — to process report sending (runs on a Google Cloud project; processing logs temporarily record sender and recipient email addresses)
• Firebase Crashlytics — for anonymized crash reporting

Each service is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Gmail Permission

The App requests the gmail.send permission to send emails on your behalf. This permission is used exclusively to deliver your water quality reports. The App cannot read, modify, or delete your emails.

You can revoke this permission at any time from your Google Account settings.

6. Your Rights

You can view and delete your data at any time:

• Change or clear your settings from the Settings screen
• Delete individual send history entries or clear all history
• Sign out and uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the App or applicable regulations. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or this page.
